Prepare to Launch

We had our first church launch meeting tonight. All went well. There was a good turn out and we are building up some momentum. We will be doing some projects to raise the awareness of church planting within our current church. We are praying for forty people to come out this Church Planting Awareness Campaign. With the power of God and by His Spirit we will reach our forty people. Now comes the time to step into the leadership role that God has called me to. This church plant will not happen if Tina and I have to do everything. We don't want to do everything because if left up to us we will never get off the ground. Nothing done great for God was done by one person or by two people for that matter. I have heard that church planting is an extreme sport but it is also a team sport. So I guess church planting is an extreme team sport.

Until next time!

It occurred to me...

We only have one life to live and for the most part we can choose how our life goes. Of course God weighs heavily into the path we travel but we are charged to at least make plans for the journey.

Since we only have one life to live then we need to live this one life to the fullest. Not in some hedonistic, materialistic, or narcissistic way. Rather we should find something in this life that we can happily and willingly lay our lives down on the line doing. It was said once “If you can’t find something to live for then you should find something to die for.” Most of us love our lives and don’t want to give it up…at least not just yet. For some reason we feel like there is still so much to accomplish in this life. So if we are to live then we should live with a purpose.

Living with a purpose gives focus to our lives. A purposeless life leads to emptiness. A purposeful life leads to fulfillment. Where do we get our purpose? When an inventor creates something new or redesigns something he gives his new invention a purpose thus providing meaning. The invention cannot tell the inventor that what its purpose is or that it wants a different purpose. In the case of humans, God is the inventor or creator and He gives us our purpose. We cannot say to the Creator that you created me wrong and that my purpose is to do this other thing. May this never be! If we are ever to find meaning in this life then we need to find our purpose or rather seek God for our purpose then go about fulfilling it.
